카카오가 연예 뉴스 댓글을 폐지하고, 인물 키워드 관련 검색어를 없애는 내용의 뉴스 및 검색 서비스 개편 방향을 발표했다. 인물에 집중되는 연예 뉴스 특성상 악성 댓글이 공론장의 건강성을 해친다는 판단이다. 최근 정치권에서 문제가 되고 있는 실검 서비스도 폐지가 검토된다.
카카오는 10월25일 경기도 성남시 카카오 판교 사옥에서 기자 간담회를 열고 포털사이트 '다음'의 뉴스 및 검색 서비스 개편에 대해 발표했다. 이날 행사에는 여민수, 조수용 카카오 공동 대표가 참여해 직접 서비스 개편 방향성을 설명하고 질의응답을 이어나갔다.
