미용·성형에 주로 쓰이는 보툴리눔 톡신(일명 보톡스)의 중국 시장 진출이 기대와 달리 답보 상태에 빠졌다. 국내 보톡스 업체들의 잇단 판매 허가 신청에도 중국 당국이 2년 가까이 회신조차 제대로 해주지 않는 등 비협조적인 태도로 일관하고 있기 때문이다. 업계에서는 자국 보톡스 업체 보호를 위해 중국 당국이 한국산 제품에 시장을 열어주지 않는 등 노골적인 견제를 하고 있다는 분석이 나오고 있다.
