현대캐피탈 최태웅 감독(44)은 V리그에서 유례를 찾아보기 러시아프리미어리그중계 힘든 일을 벌였다. 구단이 아닌 감독이 나서서 자발적 리빌딩을 시작했다. 그것도 시즌 도중이다. 비싼 몸값의 선수단을 꾸릴 구단의 지원이 모자라 강제적 리빌딩을 북중미챔피언스리그중계 선택한 것이 아니다. 기존 멤버로 시즌을 치르면 최소한 ‘봄배구’는 충분한 전력이었지만 포기했다.
시즌에 앞서 우승 세터 이승원을 바꿨고, 시즌 도중에는 국가대표 카타르스타스리그중계 주전 센터 2명(신영석-김재휘)을 트레이드하며 신인지명권과 프로 2년차 세터를 받았다. 그 여파로 팀은 6연패도 경험했다. 27일 우리카드전에 출전한 선발 멤버 중 최민호를 제외한 6명의 얼굴은 지난 시즌과 달랐다. 그래서 많은 배구 관계자들은 최 감독의 의도를 궁금해한다.
