이탈리아 방송국 'RAI 스포르트'는 10일(한국시간) 전 유벤투스와 일산서구포장이사 AC밀란 공격수였던 로시가 세상을 떠났다고 보도했다. 로시는 생전 RAI에서 해설가로 활동했다.
로시와 호흡을 맞췄던 RAI의 방송인 엔리코 바리알레는 로시의 사망 소식을 전하며 "그는 지난 1982년 여름 우리 모두를 사랑에 빠지게 했다. 최근 몇년 동안은 RAI에서 소중하고 유능한 동료이기도 했다"고 그를 추모했다.
로시의 부인인 페데리카 카펠레티도 부천스카이차 이날 자신의 인스타그램에 함께 찍은 사진을 올리며 "영원히"라는 문구로 남편을 배웅했다.
로시의 정확한 사인은 밝혀지지 않았다. 다만 영국 매체 'BBC'는 로시가 오랜 기간 지병을 앓아왔다고 전했다.
로시는 1970~80년대 이탈리아를 대표하는 스타 회기동포장이사 공격수였다. 비첸자와 페루자, 유벤투스, AC밀란, 헬라스 베로나 등을 거치며 338경기에서 134골을 터트렸다. 그는 유벤투스 소속으로 세리에A 우승과 유러피언컵 우승, 코파 이탈리아 우승 등을 일궈냈다.
