해리 케인(27)은 토트넘 홋스퍼를 넘어 잉글랜드를 대표하는 골잡이다. 이제 세계 톱클래스 공격수라 불려도 손색없을 만큼 뛰어난 활약을 펼치고 있다.
이런 케인도 찬밥 신세였던 파주용달이사 시절이 있었다. 다국적 축구 매체 ‘풋볼 트라이브’는 19일 ‘케인이 토트넘을 상징하는 이유’에 관해 보도했다.
‘풋볼 트라이브’는 ‘azrorganization’의 자료를 토대로 “명가 아스널이 과거 한 소년에게 ‘살찐 녀석은 이 팀에 필요 없다’는 평가를 내렸다. 그의 처인구포장이사 이름이 바로 케인이다. 당시 9세에 불과했던 그에게 절망적이면서 충격적인 발언이었다. 그때 케인이 잉글랜드 축구를 이끌어가는 공격수가 될 거라고 누구도 예상하지 못했다”고 뼈아픈 과거를 조명했다.
