루이스 반 할 전 맨유 감독은 솔샤르 감독이 시즌 종료 후 경질 될 수 있다고 주장했다.
영국매체 '메트로'는 21일(한국시각) "루이스 공덕동포장이사 반 할 감독이 솔샤르 감독의 전술을 비판했고 맨체스터 유나이티드가 감독 경질을 망설이는 이유를 설명했다"고 전했다.
올시즌 초반 솔샤르 감독은 맨유의 들쭉날쭉한 경기력과 챔피언스리그 16강 진출 실패로 인해 경질설이 끊이지 않았다. 그러나 경질의 분수령이었던 맨체스터 더비에서 무승부를 거둬 반등의 발판을 마련했다. 그후 셰필드 시흥포장이사 원정에서 승리하며 리그 원정 경기 10연승을 달성했고 21일 홈에서 리즈 유나이티드를 상대로 6-2 대승을 거두며 리그 3위에 올라 자신을 향한 비난 여론을 잠재웠다.
반 할 감독은 매체를 통해 솔샤르 감독이 전 맨유 선수라는 이유로 빨리 경질 되지 않을 것으로 보았다. 그는 "솔샤르는 전 맨유 선수다. 그래서 구단은 솔샤르를 다른 감독들처럼 빠르게 해고 하지 않을 것이다"고 말했다.
반 할은 모예스의 뒤를 이어받아 2014년 7월 맨유의 지휘봉을 잡았다. 두 시즌 동안 팀을 이끌며 2015~2016시즌 잉글랜드 FA컵에서 이삿짐센터후기 우승 트로피를 들었다. 히지만 두 번째 시즌이 끝난 뒤 리그에서의 부진을 이유로 곧바로 경질됐다.
