김정균 감독이 이끄는 담원은 지난 26일 nba분석 오후 온라인으로 열린 '2020 LOL KeSPA컵 울산' 한화생명과 4강전서 주전 5인방이 모두 고르게 활약하면서 3-1로 승리했다. 이 승리로 담원은 KeSPA컵 결승에 선착해 KT와 농심의 4강전 승자와 우승을 놓고 다투게 됐다.
한화생명은 이번 스토브리그의 화제팀. '쵸비' 정지훈과 느바중계 '데프트' 김혁규가 이름값을 하면서 분전했지만, 담원의 경기력은 롤드컵 우승팀답게 타의 추종을 불허했다. 팀에 새롭게 가세한 '칸' 김동하는 4세트 아칼리로 전성기가 떠오르는 끝장 캐리력을 보여줬고, '캐니언' 김건부를 중심으로 기존 4인방의 경기력은 여전했다.
경기 후 OSEN의 전화인터뷰에 응한 담원 김정균 감독은 동대문사다리차 "만족스러운 승리다. 선수들이 잘해줘서 고맙다. 선수들 덕분에 지도자 생활을 하면서 처음으로 KeSPA컵 결승전에 올라가게 됐다(웃음)"며 결승 진출 소감을 밝혔다.
