이어 “우리 코치진은 다가올 시즌에 아리하라와 함께하는 것을 용달반포장이사 기대하고 있다”면서 “또한 니혼햄 구단이 아리하라를 성장시킨 공로에 감사를 표하고 싶다”고 덧붙였다.
아리하라는 계약 발표 이후 “메이저리그에서 뛸 수 있는 기회를 준 텍사스 구단에 매우 감사드린다. 글로브라이프 필드의 텍사스 팬들 앞에서 공을 던질 수 있어서 매우 흥분되고 모두 이천포장이사 응원해주시기를 바란다”며 계약 소감을 밝혔다.
랜스 린을 시카고 화이트삭스로 트레이드했고 코리 클루버와의 재계약도 포기한 상황에서 텍사스 구단은 아리하라를 택했다. 최고 95마일의 강속구와 스플리터를 주무기로 하는 아리하라는 지난 2014년 드래프트 1순위로 니혼햄에 입단한 아리하라는 2015년 퍼시픽리그 신인왕에 올랐다. 2016년 11승으로 포장이사가격비교 니혼햄의 일본시리즈 우승에 공헌했고, 2019년 개인 최다 15승으로 커리어하이 시즌을 보냈다.
