고국으로 추방되면 사형을 당할 수도 있다면서 필리핀 정부에 망명을 신청한 뒤 20일간 공항에 억류돼 있던 미인대회 이란 대표 출신 여성이 강제 추방을 피하게 됐습니다.

필리핀 법무부는 이란 출신 바하레 자레 바하리(31)에게 6일 자로 1951년 유엔난민협약에 따라 난민으로 인정됐음을 통보했다고 현지 언론이 보도했습니다.

이후 바하리는 억류돼 있던 필리핀 마닐라 공항을 떠났습니다.

앞서 바하리는 지난달 17일 두바이발 비행기를 타고 마닐라 공항을 통해 필리핀에 들어오려다 인터폴 수배에 따라 입국이 거부되고 이란으로 추방될 위기에 처하자 필리핀에 망명을 신청했습니다.
