최근 한국은 신종코로나바이러스 감염증(코로나19)이 빠르게 확산되고 있다. 중앙방역대책본부는 12일 기준으로 신규 확진자가 950명까지 늘어났다고 발표했다. 지난 1월 첫 환자 발생 뒤 가장 많은 숫자다.
확진자가 1천명대로 향하면서 3단계로 해축중계 격상될 수도 있다는 우려의 목소리도 나오기 시작했다.
3단계로 격상할 경우 무관중으로 진행되고 있는 프로배구 리그도 잠정 중단에 들어가게 된다. 구단들은 “일단 기존 방역 지침대로 하면서 상황을 지켜보려고 한다”고 밝혔다.
이탈리아 출신의 산틸리 감독은 최근 안양용달이사 코로나19로 아픔을 겪었다. 산틸리 감독은 12일 경기를 앞두고 “이탈리아에 있는 이모가 코로나19에 감염돼 지난주에 돌아가셨다. 아무래도 나이가 있으니 코로나19에 걸리면 어려울 수밖에 없는 거 같다”고 운을 뗐다.
산틸리 감독은 “한국은 이탈리아와 비교해서 레벨이 다르게 훨씬 안전하다. 한국이 900명대로 확진자가 나왔다고 하지만, 이탈리아는 최근 라리가중계 사망자가 많게는 800명이 코로나19로 사망한다”라며 “한국에 있는 내가 더 안정적으로 지내고 있는 거 같다”고 이야기했다.
